Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu received a bail today. He is charged with culpabale homicide for the death of a man way back in 1989. So, after an illustrious career in cricket, a not so illustrious career as a commentator with ESPN, and a comedy show where he usually turned out to be the biggest joker himself; Mr. Sidhu has come a long way. And yes, the case also. As he came out of the Patiala Central Jail, he was given a confetti-laden welcome. Slogans like "Sidhu zindaabad" rented the air. And well, this is just a bail. Think of the scenario, if he is pronounced - not guilty. And Patiala happens to be his home town. Add to it the commotion created by BJP activitists, a typical sikh swagger, and you have a complete recipe for an emotion filled war-hero-comes-back story. And he did his best to not miss this oppotune moment. As soon as he was out, after the customary slogans and acknowledgement for his support, he did what any other politician would do. Deliver a heart warming speech....
